 It's all about "Focus"

BANGALORE, Karnataka (India) - With a quick toot of his horn, the driver of the small white cab signals his intent to change lanes and make a turn.  A sea of motor scooters  and three-wheeled “tempos” part as if guided by a precognitive hand - just enough to let the taxi squeeze into their lane and set up a for a quick left turn into the Indiranagar & Kormangala Intermediate Ring Road .  A short, bumpy ride down a road that is six months away from paving leads to a new, brownstone style office within the shadows of glistening new technology centers for multinational financial and technology companies.   A warmly lit sign with the familiar Open Box logo brings a smile to the travel weary passenger.

Welcome to MIAC Analytical Services Pvt. Ltd. or MIAC India as it is known. Upon their return from a recent visit to MIAC India, Perspectives sat down with MIAC Principal, Bob Husted and Managing Director Sachit Kumar to discuss the newest MIAC office .

MIAC India focuses on initial client data setup and MIAC US focuses on the market assumptions and the valuation / risk management analysis.

Q:  Why Bangalore, specifically?

Sachit Kumar: Bangalore and its surroundings has the largest number of universities that

provide easy access to financial talent that MIAC is looking for. Bangalore with a great climate, low crime rate and English language usage provides a great business environment.

Q:  What is the typical educational background of a MIAC India professional?

Sachit Kumar: MIAC India analysts have a bachelor in engineering or business as well as a master in business / engineering with focus on quantitative modeling.

Q: What do we see in future for MIAC India?

Bob Husted:    Over time, we expect to be broadening our services in Bangalore to include software development and support. Near term, we plan to add professionals to support our Secondary Solutions Group and residual valuation efforts.

Kumar:  I think you will see us expand our service offering to include client mortgage data processing work.

Bob Husted: India continues to grow its domestic mortgage industry. Most Wall Street firms have been positioning there to take advantage of India’s growth in this sector. As the mortgage and financial services industry evolve in India, MIAC India plans to be very much committed to it.
